Heeeeeeeeeeeeere we go!

okay, so i know it's not pc to be excited about a storm like hurricane frances, but i reckon since i'm stuck with it anyway, i may as well make the most out of it, hey?

we are just now getting the first feeler bands from the storm...the wind is gusting hard, blowing the rain in almost horizontal sheets.

Now about the cool factor.... I live in Indiana, and have experienced the after effects of a hurricane. The rain is intense and warm.... and smells of the sea. (salt water rain). It is a real treat to experience. ( I am not making light of a hurricane), just saying how it feels to feel the after effects of one. It is rare and wonderful if you are inland and safe....

the church behind our house of course.

at 3:30am i wake suddenly to a strange humming sound that gets louder and louder until its a low roar.

i got up and looked out the window to see a street cleaner cleaning the parking lot at the church.

Hi Princess,

I would be upset too! You know, most "mainstream" churches use outside contractors for cleaning and yardwork, stuff like that. I would contact the pastor of the church and explain to him or her the situation. I am sure they will correct the matter. If not, then take it to a higher power. Most churches do not wish to annoy people, or make enemies. Try going to the church's leader first.

Thats what jumped out to me as well. That those two words were put in quotations, while the words "animal" and "demonic" were not....The rest of the world has caught on to pedophilia being a severe and nearly untreatable mental disease. The watchtower has yet to grasp this perverse and serious problem as such. They continue to coddle and include them in their ranks as "innocent".

You are absolutely correct. The judgements are based not on the old testament values of justice (gods commands) but on whom is most expendable. Better to lose a youngster who is a non-producer than a fully producing and active salesman.

It must have been stolen for ransom...such a famous work could never be shown off or sold. And why in the world doesnt this museum have better security? For heavens sakes!

Public Talks - why so stale and repetitive?

after reading blueblades post on public meeting talk titles, i got to thinking that we must have heard the same public talks over and over again.

if there are 151 public talk outlines, that means we must have heard each one, once every three years.. a few stand out in my mind.... parents - are you building with fire resistant materials?.

IMHO the dubs have bastardized their own dogma from other denominations over the years in order to stand out as different. This gives them a loyal following of people who rely on every word and teaching.

They have trouble changing those teachings because as everyone knows, it is hard to maintain a lie. The lie gets bigger and bigger. If they change anything, the followers can just look back a few years at the literature and see the drastic change. That would be tragic! The whole facade of gods sole channel would be in jeopardy!

Most churches stay relevant and current with changing society, and current issues that effect the members. They main goal for them is to give comfort and advice. To make sermons meaningful and appropriate. Not so with the tower....The idea they wish to convey is stand out, be unique, keep door knocking and getting donations. Keep giving and working for us! That is why it is stale. Their agenda has not changed since the days of Rutherford.
